Marvel’s Avengers – Sand Art Fan Tribute by Sand Artist Lawrence Koh (from Singapore)

Marvel's Avengers - Sand Art Fan Tribute by Sand Artist Lawrence Koh (from Singapore)
FINALLY ITS DONE!!! - After sacrificing lots & lots of sleep, I am now ready to present to you my Sand Art fan tribute to "Marvel's The Avengers"!!! I have tried my very best to include as many heroes as possible within this Sand Art film while trying to make it as epic as possible! Yes, everything here was created using SAND & MY HANDS!
Doing this Sand Art fan tribute has been a really interesting, inspiring & unique journey for me. Within this Avengers Sand Art film, I have tried tons of new techniques that I have never tried before while discovering much more than what I would have expected as a Sand Artist. I have combined a mix of styles according to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as well as the original comics, so as to try & bring a unique feel to all the heroes using my Sand Art.
Even though these heroes might be works of fiction, but to some kids or people who are fighting a strenuous real-life battle or facing traumas of bullying, sickness or daily challenges; these heroes & their stories inevitably transformed into real-life inspirations of strength, courage, teamwork, love, compassion, unity, acceptance, friendship (probably many more inspiring qualities too). To many people, they are not just fictionous characters but symbols of hope. Interestingly, as I see the creation of these heroes using countless grains of sand day after day, I realized that every single grain of sand actually matters alot; each playing their part in forming together all the heroes seen here.
We are all very much like these grains of sand isn't it? Each of us playing our own part & contributing to a better world. And we all have this power to achieve greater heights together. And with unity, we too can create miracles & heroes in our world.
I want to specially dedicate this Avengers Sand Art film to Wei Ming & Sanjay! Thank you both for inspiring this creation of mine!
I love the Marvel Heroes & Marvel Cinematic Universe films!!! After watching "Avengers: Infinity War", I can't stop thinking about this super awesome film for days & I simply can't get enough of the Avengers!!! Hence, I have decided to do a Sand Art fan tribute due to this fan craze I have! I can't wait for another year for the next Avengers film to be out!!! Argh LOL!!!
My wish is for this Sand Art film to hopefully inspire YOU to achieve your dreams & to brave all challenges in life! Yes, I strongly believe, we can all choose to be heroes in this world in our own ways!
May you be well & happy!

Batman Sand Art by Singapore Sand Artist Lawrence

"All men have limits. They learn what they are and learn not to exceed them. I ignore mine." - Batman

In life we faced lots of challenges, especially for myself be it as a sand artist or simply as a human being. However, we can always take inspiration from heros who simply inspire us to conquer our obstacles and problems as well as our very own limits via our mind, strategy and wisdom! May you be a hero of your own world!

With Gratitude,
Sand Artist Lawrence Koh

"Great Compassion" - A Guan Yin Sand Art Tribute by Lawrence Koh from Singapore

"Great Compassion" - A Guan Yin Sand Art Tribute by Lawrence Koh from Singapore

I hereby prayed that everyone achieved happiness, good health, success, peace and love. Irregardless of who you are, may you be free from all sufferings and attain everlasting happiness... Om Mani Padme Hum ཨོཾ་མ་ཎི་པདྨེ་ཧཱུྃ

Avalokiteśvara, also known as "Guan Yin" (觀音) in Chinese or "Chenrezig" (སྤྱན་རས་གཟིགས་) in Tibetan (Sanskrit: अवलोकितेश्वर lit. "Lord who looks down") is a bodhisattva who embodies the compassion of all Buddhas. Portrayed in different cultures as either male or female, Avalokiteśvara is one of the more widely revered bodhisattvas in mainstream Mahayana Buddhism, as well as unofficially in Theravada Buddhism.

Guan Yin is known for His Great Compassion because anyone who calls out for Guan Yin's assistance will be liberated from any suffering.

"The One with Beautiful Eyes" by Singapore Sand Artist Lawrence

"An animal's eyes have the power to speak a great language." - Martin Buber

May this world put a stop to senseless animal hunting....

“I ask people why they have deer heads on their walls. They always say because it’s such a beautiful animal. There you go. I think my mother is attractive, but I have photographs of her.” – Ellen DeGeneres

Sand Art by Singapore Sand Artist Lawrence

From Wikipedia:

Sand animation, also known as sand art, is a term which has two meanings. It is the name given to a style of live performance art and to a type of animation. In the former, an artist creates a series of images using sand, a process which is achieved by applying sand to a surface and then rendering images by drawing lines and figures in the sand with one’s hands. A sand animation performer will often use the aid of an overhead projector or lightbox (similar to one used by photographers to view translucent films). In the latter, animators move around sand on a backlighted or frontlighted piece of glass to create each frame for their animated films.

Recognizing Thoughts & Emotions

"When these subtle thoughts of jealousy and pride remain unrecognized, they grow into overwhelming emotions that cling to one's own happiness and to hostility toward others. The root of all this is the grasping at a self. Because we strongly believe in this self, we feel alarmed by everything that threatens it. When others criticize us, we get angry."

"The Barong of Bali" by Singapore Sand Artist Lawrence

Barong is a lion-like creature and character in the mythology of Bali, Java, Borneo, Andalas, Indonesia. He is the king of the spirits, leader of the hosts of good, and enemy of Rangda, the demon queen and mother of all spirit guarders in the mythological traditions of Bali. The battle between Barong and Rangda is featured in Barong dance to represent the eternal battle between good and evil.

Balinese mythology, the good spirit is identified as Banas Pati Raja. Banas Pati Raja is the fourth “brother” or spirit child that accompanies a child throughout their life, which is a similar concept to guardian angels. Banas Pati Raja is the spirit which animates Barong. A protector spirit, he is often represented as a lion. The Barong is often portrayed accompanied by two monkeys. Barong is portrayed as a lion with red head, covered in white thick fur, and wearing gilded jewelry adorned with pieces of mirrors. The shape of lion Barong is somewhat similar to a Pekingese dog.

Imagination by Sand Artist Lawrence

“I am enough of an artist to draw freely upon my imagination. Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.”
― Albert Einstein
